  • Fast paced role and requires travelling daily
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working within a trade
  • Be able to multi skill outside their core trade – to include plumbing, general building, carpentry & roofing.
  • Previous experience of planned and reactive maintenance works in Commercial/Residential & Industrial settings.

  • Must have the ability to operate safely and have a good knowledge of Health and Safety

Advance is a single point of contact reactive maintenance works for commercial and industrial clients 365 days of the year. The role of multi skilled mobile engineers is fast-paced and requires travelling daily.

Junior Small Works Estimator – Full time
Based in our Maidstone offices

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Junior Small Works Estimator to join our team.

You will be a part of a fast-growing business that promotes high standards and prides itself on delivering the best possible service to all clients. In this role you will be responsible for pricing building repair and maintenance tasks for our client's sites.

You will be responsible for attending site surveys, gathering the necessary information and undertaking research to price materials, plant and labour aspects of all quotes.

This role requires frequent driving, therefore a full UK drivers licence and own vehicle is required in order for your application to be reviewed.

  • Duties / Responsibilities:
    • Attend site visits and site surveys to complete quotations, meeting with clients onsite when required to gather all information required to allow a detailed quotation to progress
    • Highlight any potential QHSE issues that may arise undertaking the small work project
    • Research materials and equipment. Develop self-knowledge to ensure the business remains up to date with new developments in the industry
    • Assess technical documents when required whilst preparing quotations and consult all relevant trade legislation around the small work project
    • Collate quotations from suppliers and sub-contractors, process, and challenge where necessary
    • Plan job timescales and assess levels of risk associated to works to be carried out
    • Evaluate cost-effectiveness and profitability. Provide advice and recommendations on ways to increase effectiveness and profitability
    • Assist with bids for new contracts & clients including invitations to tender
    • Monitor the stages of small work projects to make sure that costs are kept in line with forecast
    • Maintain correct profit margins for all quotations and small works
    • Provide internal staff with technical knowledge and advice when planning in and delivery of small works projects
    • Consult with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal staff to discuss and formulate estimates, resolving any problems which may arise
    • Represent the organisation at client meetings and external events
